"The location is far enough from Duval to be quiet but is only a two minute walk to the Green Parrot and everything else you want in Key West. The unit was clean and had everything we could need.

"Our stay provided what we needed with two bedrooms, kitchen, sitting area and a patio. The complex had a pool and convenient location close to restaurants and tourist activities,
The furnishings need to be updated, they are looking tired. We chose the unit because it only had two entry steps but the bathroom had no safety bars in the shower. We walked most places in the local area and enjoyed our stay with trips to Hemingway House, Truman Little White House and Sunset pier and Mallory Square, Kermit’s and Blue Heaven. Our companions branched out to the night life and music scene.

"We have stayed at Shipyard condos many times. It is a convenient location. Furthermore, the condos are nice.
My biggest concern is the cost of the rental. I think KW stays in general have become very over priced especially for just a twosome. Unfortunate.

"Great location next to all the action, easy walk to town. Place was nice, small but cozy, clean, neighbors upstairs were loud could hear every step they took during the night. Bed mattress not super comfortable but tolerable. Need to add a pizza cutter but otherwise had all the things needed. Great washer and dryer which was nice. Would consider staying again nice patio to sit out on. Owners let us check in early which was great as there is no where to store bags prior to check in. No issues during our stay. Relaxing would rent again.

A Perfect Stay

"My wife and I and our two teenage children had plenty of room in this unit. The home was clean and fully functional. The grounds were well manicured and landscaped. The pool was a very short walk and was excellent. This unit is located within walking distance to everything. No complaints or issues, only compliments to the rental staff. They were clear with communications and there were no questions from us. We would definitely stay here again.

"This condo is in the quiet of Truman Annex yet only 2 blocks from Duval and other Old Town attractions and the marina. A 5 minute walk from the ocean. The condo was very clean and well appointed. The only quirk that I would mention as others have is that the master bed is actually two twins put together. Amusing what some owners try to save a buck on,although Key West Vacation Properties cannot be blamed for that. Nevertheless, would stay here again.

"Key West properties Truman Annex rental, overall the property and surrounding buildings were well kept and clean. Our area had it's own pool which was also clean,neat and locked entry by key issued to each property. Community was also gated at secondary entry point, guard shack at main entrance. Our unit was nice with washer and dryer included, 2 chair front porch and 4 chair and table on rear deck. There were new doors added to the rear which they may be in the process of finishing. Deck boards will need some reattachment or replacement soon. We understand the need for security but if there was a locking gate at the rear it would have been a nice addition and another access point to activities. A place to securely store luggage for early arrivals would also be nice. Flying in we are at the mercy of the airline schedules. Overall unit was in a great area close to Duval and almost halfway between Mallory square and the southern most point. We were within 2 blocks of various types of stores,restaurants and bars. Our contacts by email,phone and and texts were always answered promptly with exactly the information we needed. Key West Vacation Properties and Realty overall did an excellent job for our first trip to Key West definitely well worth the time to contact for a stay.

Nice Place for Two People

"Right in the center of all the action. Short walk to Duval St. Parking is good. Bike racks. Really too small for four or more people. The King size bed is really two twins that have attempted to be connected. Slight gap between the two. Other bed is a Queen. The King room has no closet. Really! Still we had a great time. Coffee was provided. No sugar or creamers so be aware. Friendly people to talk to. Minor problems were corrected almost immediately.

"Shipyard was just right for us. We were walking distance from everything. The back patio was perfect for breakfasts and dinners with our 4 as well as our other 4 friends that stayed in another unit at Shipyard. The neighbors were as sweet as the key lime pie from blue heaven, and the pool was a nice place to grab some rays and meet new friends. Just be sure to add some cooking basics (like oil/butter and s/p) to your shopping trip. And be sure to stick your parking pass in your golf cart!

"The Truman Annex is centrally located. This property was very clean. They provided bath soaps and laundry detergent. We were presently surprised to find a full size washer and dryer.
The property manager was very responsive to any of my requests. I would definitely stay here again.

"Overall we had a great time. The apartment was as advertised. The few contacts we had with management they were responsive, professional and helpful.

Things I wish I had known:
The complex wanted some sort of parking permit but that was never communicated to us.

The pots are not non stick - so eggs for breakfast resulted in lot of effort cleaning the pans, even with using low heat and lots of oil. Microwaving them worked fine.

The king size bed was very firm which is not our preference.

The description seemed very clear that we would be provided one towel, one hand towel and one washcloth per person. However when we arrived there was another set of towels available for swimming towels. Had we known this we would not have packed towels.

We discovered that the dishes in the cabinet had been put away dirty. This is just the risk you take when staying after other people. I wouldn't expect a cleaning company to check this. We just make it a point to wash all dishes we will be using upon arrival.

" This unit is a very short walk to the waterfront park and Ft. Zachary. It does back up to a busy street, and gets noisy at night. if doors are open. The condo photos are a bit deceiving in that it is very dark and the furniture could use updating. The backyard patio which is bright and sunny, with an umbrella for shade. We had some maintenance issues which were quickly handled by management. The unit was clean but wish the kitchen was better stocked with essentials. Our neighbors, long time renters, were great and you can't beat the overall location for being close to everything. The five minute walk to Truman Waterfront Park was a bonus, just a spectacular place for all ages and many activities, jogging, biking, playing in splash pad, sitting on the dock, picnics, farmers market, etc.

"The location is perfect, able to bike all over the island. Would definitely stay here again and again!!! The condo could definitely use some updating, but overall a gem. Blackout curtains in the living room and bedroom would be great! The mattress in the main bedroom is really hard, possibly add a foam topper to soften it a bit. Loved the keyless entry. Looking forward to renting here again!

"Upon arrival the condo was clean and neat. The air was cool and the unit temperature comfortable. The thermostat was locked at 71• which is fine as long as you keep the blinds drawn.

Everything is close by and convenient. We rode our bikes most of the time and had a blast. I would definitely stay here again.

"Clean condo .Extra towels. A lot of room for two people.If another couple came would be a little inconvienent do to only 1 bathroom.Property well kept and there is parking 1 vehicle per rental.Parking a plus for sure! Another plus was a washer and dryer. They also supplied you with detergent for one wash and dryer sheet.Two sets of keys but newer set for condo not working.Had what you needed for cooking however we ate out a lot. Everything in town in walking distance. Condo just needs some LED bulbs in kitchen. Very dark.When we first arrived kitchen cabinet door fell off when opened. Maintenance was there the very next morning. King bed mattress a little too warn and saggy. Close to street. Do not need an alarm clock. The roosters battle on whose the loudest very very early. Lol! Still had a nice time.

"Check in & out, not convenient. Arrived on Saturday & office was closed! No explanation on box for keys that you need to wait until 4pm for box to open. Fortunately, someone showed up. Office should be on site. Had to take 2nd Uber to Shipyard from office. And again upon departure. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay.

Hello Mary, I am sorry for the confusion, the contract states check in time and my email with the lock box information, state that keys will be in the lock box at 4:00 which is check in time. We do not have an office on site because we manage properties all over the island. Our main office is approximately .8 miles from the property. Quiet side of town, nice unit and helpful rental agents

"The unit was well stocked and comfortable. There was a slight problem with a door to the patio area that needed a fix. The outdoor patio furniture could use replacing. This issues were reported to the rental agency. The location of the unit is near Fort Zack which has one of the best beaches in Key West. The pool is small but not crowded and is close and easily accessible from the unit. One problem is parking if you have family with another vehicle there is nowhere to park except in an expensive lot or on the street which is metered parking also but that is how most of the parking is in Key West. Another advantage to the location of the unit is that you can walk to most of the places you want to visit. Duval street is two blocks away. Very good location and comfortable unit.

"We love to stay in the Truman Annex location whenever we visit the keys. This condo was decorated nicely and clean. We've stayed at several other annex condos and our only complaint on this one was that the backyard backs up to a street that is fairly busy. Duval loop buses go by several times hourly as well as other buses and trash trucks. Not as quiet as some other units.

"Thank you to the owners who rent their place out! This condo was excellent! It was in THE perfect location in the "Old Town". We could walk or bike ride everywhere, it is far enough away from the hustle and bustle to have a great relaxing sleep. There is also a fantastic little grocery store a few blocks away that we walked to for groceries. The condo also provided peace of mind for parking our vehicle securely and off the road. We really had a great stay and can't wait to go back! We do not have anything negative to say about the condo or the grounds.

"Key West is a fun place to visit. Our condo was in a great location only two blocks from Duval St. One block away was a bus stop offering free bus transportation with stops near all the popular spots. Our condo was perfect for the two of us. It was exactly as described, clean, and provided the necessary things such as toiletries, bedding, towels etc. needed. The only thing needed to bring is food. I wouldn't bring too much since there are so many good places to eat. I would highly recommend this location for you stay.

Hard to Beat

"We’ve stayed in the Shipyard in the gated community of Truman Annex, Key West previously but not in this unit. Having a terrific relationship with KWVPR over many years at Pelican Landing we decided on renting 197 from them: it was a major good decision. Honestly we couldn’t find a single fault - although we don’t look for them. The whole place was spotless, everything provided...the cupboard was even full of spices, herbs and condiments (not that we planned on cooking much) and enough coffee filters for a very long time! Truman Annex is in the perfect place for visiting Key West because you can walk everywhere and the unit comes with its own parking spot so it’s safe and sound. We’ll be back.

Nothing but relaxation

" The condo is the perfect spot for everything you would want to do in Key West. I initially found the condo small, for my taste, but grew into it. Minor issues- DONT open the french doors tot he patio from the living room, the one door is rotted on the bottom. I was assured by Becky that the maintenance team would fix, like everything else, I am sure it will be done. The front screen door was ripped, and I am sure a simple repair will correct that. Make sure you have a place to set your bags when you arrive. I could not get into the condo until 4:30-5:00 pm. If you are lucky to get in the place before the set time, then great! I felt very much at home, and my guest never felt put out or crammed in. I would recommend this place to most people if you think you have a big crew and want to party here...this is not the place. If you're planning to relax and be close to everything, then this is the place! Enjoy! Thank you, Becky!

Thanksgiving at Key West

"The unit was very nice, the kitchen was well-stocked and we loved having coffee on the deck in the morning! We've stayed in the Truman Annex before and love the convenience to Duval and all of the museums, etc. The only downside was the distance between key pickup and rental location, but we made it work.

"Absolutely nothing to complain about! The unit was not huge but absolutely adequate for our 4 guests. The location of Shipyard was perfect and within easy walking distance to just about everything. The unit was also clean and well stocked with towels, bed linens and kitchen ware.

"The unit was well equipped except it did not have an adequate frying pan. Also, the lighting in the kitchen was terrible. The fixture needs stronger bulbs. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay. The location was great. You can walk everywhere.

Perfect weather, perfect location!

"Stayed at Shipyard 197 for a week in March. Key West is both tropical and urban--you can walk or ride a bike everywhere. The location of this condo in the Truman Annex is fantastic. It's two blocks from the shops, restaurants, and bars; but it's perfectly quiet at night. You can easily walk anywhere in Old Town from the condo. The unit itself was clean and comfortable. It's not huge, but the two bedrooms/one bath worked well. The best part of the condo is the private, shady backyard/deck. Did I mention that the weather was perfect? Upper 70s, light breeze. The pool at Truman Annex was clean and nice, though there were times when the leathery old people crowded the pool a bit. Last note: head out to the sunset every night. We split our sunsets between Mallory Square (circus acts, buskers, excitement) and Fort Zach park (costs 7 bucks to drive in, but the view of the sunset and the boats was better).

"Our place in the shipyard was a very clean and a very nicely furnished condo! You couldn't ask for a better place to stay! The only downfall was the shipyard could use another pool! If you wanted to spend any time next to the pool it didn't hardly have enough room to be in the sun!
